R.L. Stine

Robert Lawrence Stine (geboren op 8 Oktober 1943), bekend als R. L. Stine en Jovial Bob Stine, is een Amerikaanse schrijver. Stine, wie vaak de "Stephen King van de jeugdliteratuur" genoemd wordt, is de auteur van honderden horror-romans, waaronder de Goosebumps (Kippenvel), Rotten School, Mostly Ghostly, The Nightmare Room (Nachtmerries?), en Fear Street series. Sommige van zijn minder-bekende werken bestaan uit een Space Cadets-trilogie, twee Hark spelboeken, twee Dangerous Girls romans, een twee-delige roman The Beast, en tientallen moppenboeken.

R.L. Stine heeft het tiener-horror genre uitgevonden met Fear Street, de bestselling jeugd-horrorserie aller tijden. Hij veranderde ook het gezicht van het uitgeven van kinderboeken met de mega-succesvolle Goosebumps series, welk Guinness World Records dé best-verkopende kinderboeken ooit noemt, en vervolgens uitbrak tot een wereldwijd multimedia fenomeen. R.L. Ik heb zelf niet zo heel veel boeken gelezen van Stine. Wel de volledige Cheerleaders serie en misschien een paar van Fear Street.
De Nederlandse versies van Kippenvel vond ik te simpel en toen ben ik eigenlijk gestopt met het lezen van Stine.
